How we support women and girls
Our primary purpose is to empower African Caribbean Women. Everything we do centres on tackling identified needs in various aspects of everyday life. We deliver culturally appropriate support in an environment where women can feel safe and can empathise with one another.
We take an integrated approach in our work and provide information, advocacy, support and advice. We can help you if you’re currently experiencing some form of violence against you, or if this has happened to you in the past.
You can also contact us if you feel you are at risk of being harmed, or you want to understand the range of abusive behaviours.
If you need help in assessing risk and developing safety plans to reduce the risk of harm to you, call us.
We’re here for every woman experiencing any form of violence, abuse or harmful behaviours and practices.
Referrals
We accept self-referrals and referrals from other agencies. You can use our general referral form online or download and return it via email.
We may, after first assessing your needs, refer you to a different service with the specific expertise you require – but we will always explore the options with you first. We’ll only onward refer you to another service with your consent. If you wish to continue having CJO’s input into your support plan, the VAWG Service will explore co-working with the service provider.
Please contact the Police if you feel threatened in any way or have any concerns about your safety – they are there to help you.
